P.M Narendra Modi banned ₹500 and ₹1000 notes in India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the country tonight, announced that ₹ 500 and ₹ 1000 notes will not be used from midnight onwards. The ₹500 and ₹1000 notes must be deposited at post offices and banks by the end of December, the PM said, adding the move was essential to fight “the disease of black money.”
For now, notes currently in use can be traded for upto ₹4,000 till November 24, after which, the amount will be increased. Against notes that are deposited, withdrawals of upto ₹10,000 a day or 20,000 a week will be permitted for now.
Introduction of New Currency Notes
The Reserve Bank of India will issue new notes for ₹500 and ₹2000. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the nation on Tuesday said that the notes will be circulated soon, RBI has decided to limit the notes with higher value.
This change in the country will majorly effect the people involved in corruption. This step will definitely help in taking out the black money from the rat holes of the corrupt people.
